Stewara
Stewara vs. Breeze

The Breeze alternative with real fund accounting, and a free tier.

Breeze earns its reputation for being simple and affordable. That's a fair reputation. Stewara keeps Flock free, offers the full suite for $99/mo, and includes real fund accounting in that same subscription.

No credit card to start · 30-day trial of the full suite · Flock is free forever. · See pricing

Do the math for your church

$72/mo sounds simple, until you need accounting too.

Type what Breeze costs you each month. Add what you pay for accounting software on top, if anything. We only do the subtraction; nothing you type leaves this page.

Stewara is $99/mo for the whole church, accounting included, or $990 a year.

Type your bill on the left and the difference shows here.

Where Breeze is still ahead

Breeze is a genuinely simple, well-priced ChMS, and a church that only needs a clean database and giving is well served by it. Two things it does better than us, and one it does cheaper.

A lower flat price

$72/mo is less than $99/mo. If your church will never need fund accounting, two-way texting or a member home you design, Breeze is the cheaper bill, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Years of churches on it

Breeze has a long track record and a large installed base, which means more admins who already know it and more answers already written down.

Fewer decisions

One product, one price, unlimited users, no modules. Stewara has more in it, and more in it means more to set up.

Stewara Treasury. Budget vs. actual by fund

Stewara Treasury: fund accounting Breeze simply doesn't have, in the same suite as your ChMS.

Where Stewara pulls ahead

What you actually get for the same or less

Free to start, no card required

Flock — your people, families and care follow-ups — is free forever. Breeze has no free tier; you're on the $72/mo plan from day one.

Free people care, then one complete suite

Use Flock free for people, households, and care follow-ups. When the church needs the rest, Stewara is one $99/mo suite per church rather than a ladder of paid tiers.

See what the suite includes

Real fund accounting, included

A true double-entry ledger — funds, budgets, bank reconciliation — in Stewara at no extra cost, or $30/mo on its own. Breeze has no accounting product built in.

One bill, not two

Usually the church database is one subscription and the books are another. Stewara is $99/mo for the suite and the accounting, together.

How giving reaches the books
Leaving Breeze

What moves, and what we'll tell you about first.

People
Names, contact details, addresses, birthdays and status, from the People export. Stewara reads the header row, pre-fills the mapping, and shows you every column and every duplicate before a single record is written.
Song library
Titles, authors, key, tempo, CCLI number and tags. Keys are normalized on the way in; songs you already have default to skipped.
Households
Everyone arrives as an individual; you group them into households in Stewara afterwards. We would rather you knew that before you started.
Giving history
Bulk import isn't available yet. Statements for the year you switch are the first thing we plan with you, so nobody's January is broken.
Chord charts, notes, custom fields
Licensed charts stay where your license says they live; bring the CCLI numbers. Notes and custom fields are a conversation, not a column map, and we'll tell you honestly what is worth moving.

Ask a pastor, not a sales team

Send me your Breeze export. I'll tell you what moves.

I'm David. I pastor Abounding Fellowship in Abilene, Texas, run its sound board on Sundays, and built Stewara after years of counting the offering and retyping it into accounting software that didn't know what a fund was. If you send your export, or just your questions, I'll go through it with you and tell you plainly whether Stewara fits your church, and what it would take to move.

No list, no drip. One reply, from a pastor, about your church.

Bring your Breeze export with you.

Export your people as a CSV, upload it, and look at the mapping and duplicate review before a single record is written. Your 30-day trial is every module in the suite except Stewara Assistant, no card required. And Flock stays free whatever you decide.
