Stewara
Stewara vs. Planning Center

The Planning Center alternative that's one flat price, books included.

Planning Center bills each app on its own, and each one climbs as your church grows, while the books still live somewhere else. Stewara is one login and $99 a month for the whole church: people, giving, worship, check-in, events, two-way texting, your site and app, and real fund accounting. And we take $0 of your giving.

Stewara is $99/mo for the whole church, accounting included, or $990 a year.

Type your bill on the left and the difference shows here.

Where Planning Center is still ahead

Planning Center is mature, well-built software with a fifteen-year head start, and most churches on it are content. We would rather you switched for the right reasons than found these out afterwards.

Chord charts and SongSelect

Services has a mature chart editor with number and numeral charts and licensed SongSelect and PraiseCharts imports. Stewara transposes live with capo shapes, but it does not import licensed charts.

Automatic CCLI reporting

Services reports to CCLI for you. Stewara closes out what you actually sang and hands you an auditable worksheet; automatic submission waits on CCLI's partner program.

A bigger integration ecosystem

Fifteen years of third-party tools talk to Planning Center's API. If there is one your church cannot live without, ask us before you switch, and we will say plainly whether it works here.

Stewara Books. Journal entries posted automatically from Sunday's giving, each showing the debit, the credit, the fund, and a reference back to the gift

Sunday's giving, posted to real double-entry books with the fund and the gift it came from. Planning Center has no accounting product.

Where Stewara pulls ahead

What you actually get for $99/mo

Accounting's already in the room

A real double-entry ledger — funds, budgets, bank reconciliation — included in Stewara, or $30/mo on its own. Planning Center has no accounting product at all.

One price, not a stack of apps

Their bill grows with every app you add and every tier you cross. Ours has no per-module line and no tiers: $99/mo, flat, for the whole church, accounting included.

Text your people and let them reply, in the same system. No separate texting product to buy or bolt on.

Leaving Planning Center

What moves, and what we'll tell you about first.

People
Names, contact details, addresses, birthdays and status, from the People export. Stewara reads the header row, pre-fills the mapping, and shows you every column and every duplicate before a single record is written.
Song library
Titles, authors, key, tempo, CCLI number and tags. Keys are normalized on the way in; songs you already have default to skipped.
Households
Everyone arrives as an individual; you group them into households in Stewara afterwards. We would rather you knew that before you started.
Giving history
Bulk import isn't available yet. Statements for the year you switch are the first thing we plan with you, so nobody's January is broken.
Chord charts, notes, custom fields
Licensed charts stay where your license says they live; bring the CCLI numbers. Notes and custom fields are a conversation, not a column map, and we'll tell you honestly what is worth moving.

Ask a pastor, not a sales team

Send me your Planning Center export. I'll tell you what moves.

I'm David. I pastor Abounding Fellowship in Abilene, Texas, run its sound board on Sundays, and built Stewara after years of counting the offering and retyping it into accounting software that didn't know what a fund was. If you send your export, or just your questions, I'll go through it with you and tell you plainly whether Stewara fits your church, and what it would take to move.

No list, no drip. One reply, from a pastor, about your church.

Bring your Planning Center export with you.

Export your people as a CSV, upload it, and look at the mapping and duplicate review before a single record is written. Your 30-day trial is every module in the suite except Stewara Assistant, no card required. And Flock stays free whatever you decide.
